How to spend a sleepless night
Have a dead sleep
in the evening.
live so close to the wall
that brush stroke of paints
becomes dry rivers.
there has been a vacancy
on the night sky in between the stars
for a millennia.
seek and apply for that post.
put recurring alarms in your phone
five minutes apart.
and lastly
shed all the faith
you have for light and hope.
How to break your leg
Have enough faith in your road
until it turns you blind.
look up to the sky.
invoke gods
of invisible realms
to answer your doubts.
exhale a sigh
long enough to reach
the edge of this universe.
and lastly
loose the concept of time
and feel that everything
around has vanished
even the potholes.
How to be a stone
Stay low.
don’t fly.
till someone throws you away.
and when someone throws you
make sure you reach the depth
of things you are thrown into.
concentrate all the elements
of this ancient universe in your heart.
stay silent and don’t talk much about it.
you are rough so stay rough.
don’t fall for smoothness. don’t change.
stones don’t change.
be cold and unbreakable
yet fertile enough to parent an orphan sapling.
and lastly observe everything from where you are.
and prepare for a life that will remain unnoticed
through eternity.
How to be a river
Have two banks.
Roll among the rocks.
Dead bodies, flowers, tears, stones and sighs;
carry everything and anything they give you.
Grope tender reeds and
complicated lives as you go.
Wash them for a moment.
She will bath when the ghat will be in shade.
Don’t stare. Just let her washed of beauty dissolve
in you.
Be responsible. Carry all paper boats to sea.
Be the coolest one in your surroundings.
And lastly eat up one entire sun every evening before sleep.
